About patient rights
The relationship between patients and caregivers is based on mutual respect, understanding and cooperation. It is the foundation of the rehabilitation process and supports the delivery of quality care and individual progress.
As a patient, you are entitled to certain rights, established by state and federal regulations and hospital policies, to help ensure your care and safety. This includes, for example, the right to make informed decisions about your care and treatment, receive or refuse care without discrimination and express any concerns freely. It also involves your right to privacy, confidentiality and individual courtesies that help support your rehabilitation experience.
